Up until 2006 the Welsh Development Agency (WDA) was tasked with helping the Welsh economy by encouraging business development and investment in Wales. The Implementation Plan for the Entrepreneurship Action Plan (EAP) defined six key actions on how to address the challenges of increasing entrepreneurship in Wales. One of these was to ‘embed entrepreneurship education throughout the whole educational process’. The message was to talk to children and get them thinking big. Give them the self-confidence to realise that entrepreneurship isn’t just for privileged people or high fliers like Richard Branson – in fact, all entrepreneurs have to start somewhere. It’s all about energy – we named it Dynamo.
