The city of Cardiff announced in 2001 that it would be bidding for the European Capital of Culture 2008. In February 2003 we began work on the bid document and brand identity and with a brief to create a document that really emphasised Cardiff’s position as a leading candidate for the coveted title. The bid document was based on a broadsheet newspaper format, and was structured according to the 11 questions set down by the DCMS.
